Where was The Wedding filmed

When the filming of the film Svadba began, it was clear that the project would attract a lot of attention from the audience, not only because of the story itself, but also because of the well-known actors of the regional scene such as Rene Bitorajac, Dragan Bjelogrlić, Anđelka Stević Žugić and the legendary Seka Sablić. Director Igor Šeregi has already shown that he knows how to guess the audience’s taste, and the new comedy reunites recognizable acting names and a story based on everyday situations, family relationships and humor that the audience easily recognizes.

Filming took place in several locations. A large part of the scenes was created precisely in the northern Adriatic, where the key parts of the plot were filmed. Among the more important locations, Dramalj (Pazdehova beach) and Selce stand out, where part of the scenes were filmed at a famous tourist site that the locals call the “pirate ship”. The production realized part of the scenes in the area of ​​Bakar and Bakarac. Zagreb served for additional shots and interiors that accompany the urban part of the story. Such a combination of locations gives the film visual variety. The coastal landscapes and open shots of the Adriatic Sea, as well as the urban environments, give the action a different rhythm. Filming at such locations always brings a special dynamic behind the scenes. The cameras, lighting and large-scale production quickly attract the attention of passers-by. Many locals therefore had the opportunity to observe the film being made up close. Some scenes were filmed in the early morning hours, when the streets are quieter and the light is most suitable for the camera. The actors and production members often have to adapt to the weather conditions and curious passers-by.

For director Igor Šeregi, such locations are not just a backdrop but an important part of the story. Authentic spaces help the film feel more natural and closer to the audience. Instead of studio sets, real streets, squares and restaurants were used, giving the film the atmosphere of everyday life in which the action takes place. The film was produced by Eclectica, in collaboration with the production company Viktorija Film from Serbia, which confirms that it is a regional project that brings together actors and authors from several countries.

The Wedding is not just a comedy about an unusual event, but also a kind of depiction of relationships, family and mentality that is well known to the audience. That is why the director chooses locations that have character and a recognizable atmosphere.

Filming in different parts of Croatia once again showed how grateful the local landscapes can be for film production. From the streets of Zagreb to the Kvarner coast, the film received a visual framework that further emphasizes its story. And sometimes it is precisely such places, although in the background of the plot, that remain as memorable as the characters who pass through them.
